Backerkit Will Make This Easy

We will be using a service called Backerkit to handle the post-Kickstarter stuff. Here's what that means for you:

  • If you pledge before we close on the 18th, you can add funds later.
  • It will be about two weeks before you can add more funds.
  • You will be able to specify exactly how you want those pledge funds spent, whether on add-ons, or duplicates of a reward level, or whatever

Have you pledged? Cool. You can relax. You are not going to miss out.

Final Stretches

Maybe we'll hit them, maybe we won't. It's okay. You're going to get awesome, amazing stuff regardless of how much farther the funding gets taken. Again, you can relax.

Eleven Months

Yes, it may be April of 2016 before we ship the things you've pledged for. You've placed a great deal of trust in us, and we promise not to abuse that trust. The money we receive is a stewardship which we will manage carefully, frugally, and honestly. That said, it definitely will take a long time to make this stuff. But even if 2016 dawns and you have forgotten this money you spent in May of 2015, we will not have forgotten. We will deliver.

Thank You

Thank you for giving us this opportunity. We are going to be busy, but we're going to have so very much fun.

Finalize Your Pledges in Two Weeks
almost 9 years ago – Sun, Jun 14, 2015 at 03:27:02 AM

Thank You

We funded, and it's because of you. We funded at a higher level and with more backers than any other tie-in RPG on Kickstarter. What happened here was without precedent, and it happened because you're wonderful, and we're fortunate to have earned your attention.

Now Be Patient

In two weeks our Backerkit site will go live and you will be able to do the following things:

  • Add funds
  • Specify exactly which add-ons and duplicate items you want
  • Update your shipping information

You will not be able to reduce your pledge, however. That charge is going through now, and that money is what is going to cover the art, the editing, and the printing, not to mention the myriad concomitant expenses associated with an endeavor of this size.

That's just the beginning of patience, however. We won't be able to start delivering the goods until almost eleven months from now. There will be intermediate drops of digital things between now and then, because we want you to be able to start playing, but it will definitely be 2016 before you should consider checking your stoop for packages.

We will post further updates here once Backerkit goes live. We do need to step away from Kickstarter for a few days and start getting some work done. Crowd funding is pretty magical and very demanding, but it is time for us to get on the with difficult part of this project.

 But Mostly Just Thank You

Because wow. $348,641, with 5112 backers... it's the biggest thing any of us have done, and we get to do it for you. Thank you.

Updates: Project Process, BackerKit, and Funds
almost 9 years ago – Sun, Jun 14, 2015 at 03:26:57 AM

This update is brought to you by Sandra Tayler because Howard is head-down beginning to organize the comms network we need with our artists and writing the many interesting words that need to go into the book.

TL;DR: We have our funds, work can begin in earnest. I hope to have BackerKit open and sending out your individual invitations by the end of the week.

It has been two weeks since the Kickstarter closed. Howard, Alan, and I used those two weeks to catch our breath, catch up on some other things, and begin to organize all the work that is to come. Here's where we've been focused:

Alan: Nailing down the Mayhem cards in advance of an upcoming playtest. Ongoing playtesting with the first group. Second round playtesting will begin in the next few weeks.

Howard: Catching up on comics. Helping Alan nail down the Mayhem cards. Planning how to communicate and organize for all the art direction he will need to do. Drafting words to fill the book.

Sandra: Setting up BackerKit to be ready for everyone. This process turns out to be quite complex and I'm going slowly to make sure I get everything correct. It is complicated for me so that it can be simple and intuitive for you, our backers. We will also be opening up the pre-order capability so that folks who missed the Kickstarter can still be part of the project. Once BackerKit is running smoothly, I'll dive into preliminary layout so that Howard can see what art he needs to commission first.

Thank you again for all your trust. We will post Updates on progress as we have interesting things to show.
